Online Students — Orientation Events

We are so excited that you've chosen to pursue your degree here at Full Sail University. New Student Orientation begins on Monday, April 29. As a reminder, you are required to complete the Online Orientation Course before starting class on Monday, May 6.

We invite you to watch the live streams for these sessions, all streaming live from Full Sail University’s campus via Zoom.

Family Orientation
Monday, April 29
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. EST
Parents and family members may attend an orientation workshop that is tailored specifically for them. Topics address an overview of New Student Orientation Week, the unique Full Sail student experience (e.g., accelerated learning), transitioning to college, and the various sources for student support.

Learning Skills in the 21st Century
Wednesday, May 1
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. EST
This Student Success Seminar encourages students to rethink the way they study. Students will discuss their previous study habits and learn new methods to create triggers to help them recall information. Through interactive memory exercises students begin to learn their preferred brain processing style. Web 2.0 tools to assist with studying are also shared.

Prepare for Takeoff with Academic Advising
Wednesday, May 1
3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST
Embarking on any new journey can be scary, and starting college is no exception. Join Academic Advising in helping you navigate this exciting transition as you prepare to fly high to achieve your dreams. This is a GPS event.

Learning EcoSystem Workshop
Thursday, May 2
10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. EST
This workshop covers Full Sail’s unique learning model—the Learning Ecosystem— with an introduction to Students’ campus course schedules, Student Success Services, tips for success, and campus safety and security.

Emotional Intelligence
Thursday, May 2
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. EST
This workshop covers the important role that emotional intelligence and empathy play in our interactions with students, parents, and each other. This is a GPS event.

Federal Work Study Information Session
Thursday, May 2
2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. EST
This workshop will provide information on the Federal Work Study program, eligibility requirements, jobs offered and how to get involved.

Budgeting and Financial Success Strategies
Thursday, May 2
4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST
This workshop will provide information on budgeting, the time value of money, as well as introductory investment principles. This is a GPS event.

FSO Workshop
Friday, May 3
10:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. EST
Students are given an overview of the One platform and learn how to use Full Sail Online (FSO), Full Sail University’s learning platform, also known as the Learning Management System (LMS). Students will complete sample activities and the Online Orientation Test within the Online Orientation course. Tutorials are also available in the online orientation course and on Full Sail One.

 

Please keep in mind that even after attending any of these livestreams, you are still required to complete your actual Online Orientation Course in the Full Sail Online Platform.
