3D Arts

Emerging Tech

Students gain hands-on experience with augmented reality and programming, using Adobe Aero and Swift Playgrounds to explore user experience and creative technology.

Entertainment Business

This experience dives into the business strategies behind the recording, film, television, video game, and sports industries. Students learn how emotional connections drive revenue, then apply that knowledge by creating and pitching a new income source for a major music festival.

Filmmaking

While exploring the pre-production, production, and post-production aspects of the film industry, students will then be challenged to create their own stop-motion projects. They will work in groups to combine their creativity into one cohesive story and “pitch” their ideas to the class.

Game Design

After exploring the animation, programming, design, and business aspects of the gaming industry, students will work in groups to build their own board game prototype. They will be introduced to the key components crucial to game creation, how to work around real-world project constraints, and the importance of pitching their game to potential buyers.

Music Production

Students will explore multiple areas of the music industry, including audio engineering, live events, composition, and business. They will work in groups to utilize samples, loops, and virtual instruments to create a short music track within GarageBand, followed by a discussion about the best way to market their track to a target audience.

Sports Media

Students are introduced to sport-related fields including marketing, media, and sportscasting. Working in teams, they add commentary to a variety of events ranging from traditional sports to esports, then apply analytical skills to determine an ideal city for an NHL expansion team.
